Welcome to CERS 2010
Abstract submission deadline extended to December 4, 2009 !
Welcome Message from the CERS 2010 chairs
The 7th Annual College of Engineering Research Symposium (CERS 2010) hosted by the Engineering Graduate Student Council (EGSC) will be held on April 1st, 2010 at the Nittany Lion Inn, University Park, Pennsylvania. CERS is a student-initiated, student-run event that provides a venue for undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Engineering and related areas to showcase the research being conducted at Penn State to a diverse audience of engineering/science, faculty, students, and industry representatives. Students are encouraged to present their research to obtain valuable feedback on their oral, written, and visual presentation skills. Abstracts will be published in the electronic Proceedings of the symposium and accessible by symposium participants and industry representatives; authors retain the copyright for future use.
The symposium features oral paper and poster presentations, which cover topics such as: Systems, Control and Communication; Biomedical Sciences; Mechanics of Materials; Data Analysis and Signal Processing; Energy and the Environment; Simulation and Mathematical Modeling; and, Future Technology and Advanced Design. Research/travel grants will be awarded to recognize the Best Graduate/Undergraduate Paper/Poster submissions.
CERS will also feature distinguished lecturers who will address current issues and the future direction of engineering research. This year, the CERS organizing committee plans to feature an Industry Networking Session to promote interaction between industry and students. This is a great opportunity for students to begin building their network of professional contacts with industrial professionals, and it is a good opportunity for industry representatives to gain valuable insight into the wide range of research being conducted at Penn State.
CERS is co-sponsored by the College of Engineering and the University Park Allocation Committee. CERS also encourages and welcomes industrial sponsors to support the event. Please contact us if you have any questions on this activity or, if you would like to become a sponsor.
On behalf of the Engineering Graduate Student Council, we are pleased to invite you to the Nittany Lion Inn, University Park, Pennsylvania to attend the 2010 College of Engineering Research Symposium.
Sincerely,
